UNM School of Engineering NSF Career Awardees
October 28, 2011
Since 2007, fourteen School of Engineering junior faculty have received National Science Foundation CAREER awards. NSF's prestigious awards "support junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations."
On September 27, 2011, President Barack Obama announced that CAREER awardee Yasamin Mostofi, Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed on science and engineering professionals in their early independent research careers. There are 94 awardees this year and Mostofi is one of 21 researchers nominated by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
