STC fall breakfast seminar series planned for Sept. 16
August 20, 2014 - By Kim Delker
Small business development centers will be the focus of the fall breakfast seminar series hosted by STC.UNM, the University of New Mexico’s technology-transfer office.
The breakfast will be 8-9 a.m. Sept. 16. The seminars are free and open to the UNM community and the public, but registration is required. Breakfast will be provided.
Steven Becerra, director of the Albuquerque South Valley Small Business Development Center and owner of The Becerra Group, LLC, will talk about “Small Business Development Centers—The Ultimate Business Resource Partner.” Becerra will discuss the mission and structure of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program nationally and statewide, and will give specific information about the services provided, customer expectation, and how to best utilize SBDC services. The center, a nationally accredited business program and member of America’s Small Business Development Centers, provides business assistance with planning, marketing, financing (not a lender), business start-ups, entrepreneurial training, and other specialized areas to help grow and strengthen existing and new small businesses in New Mexico.
The event will be held in STC’s auditorium Building 800 in the UNM Science & Technology Park, 800 University Blvd, SE. South Campus. Free parking available in the parking garage directly west of Building 800, at the corner of Basehart and Bradbury Drive.
