School of Engineering rises in 'U.S. News and World Report' Best Graduate Schools list

The University of New Mexico’s School of Engineering overall graduate programs ranked No. 82 in the nation (up from No. 85 the previous year), according to the U.S. and World Report magazine’s 2017 Best Graduate Schools rankings, released this month.
Among individual graduate programs, the following School of Engineering programs made the list:
• Civil Engineering: No. 110
• Computer Engineering: No. 71
• Electrical Engineering: No. 66
• Mechanical Engineering: No. 102
• Nuclear Engineering: No. 15
The Department of Computer Science’s program, part of the UNM School of Engineering, is ranked in U.S. News’ Sciences category, not in Engineering. The last time the category issued rankings, 2014, the department ranked No. 82.
