School of Engineering promotes several faculty

The School of Engineering recently promoted several of its faculty members, effective with the new academic year.

Jedidiah Crandall, Shuang (Sean) Luan, and Melanie Moses, all from the Department of Computer Science, were promoted to full professors.

Sang E. Han from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Jose Cerrato from the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, and Francesco Sorrentino from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, were all promoted to associate professors.

Jamie Gomez from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, was promoted to senior lecturer.

Announced previously, moving up to the distinguished professor level are Mahmoud Reda Taha, professor and chair of the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, and Mohamed El-Genk, professor of nuclear engineering.

Additionally, Dean Christos Christodoulou appointed Christina Salas, an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in the School of Medicine, as special assistant to the dean for Health Science Center relations.
