School of Engineering makes annual Open House a virtual event in November
November 11, 2020 - by Kim Delker
Due to the pandemic this year, the Open House has been moved to a virtual format and will be offered on three separate dates on Zoom:
- Saturday, November 14, 3-5 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 18, 10 a.m.-noon
- Tuesday, November 24, 10 a.m.-noon
At the live event, participants will be greeted and given the opportunity to ask questions about the School or particular interests. There will be Zoom rooms dedicated to each of the six majors in the School, which will be staffed by unit representatives ready to answer questions about requirements, plans of study, career paths, and more. In addition, there will be Zoom rooms dedicated to scholarships, financial aid, internships, student organizations, student support services, and high school summer programs. Participants are free to enter and exit the rooms as they wish.
In addition to the live sessions, beginning on November 14, a dedicated Open House website will be launched, which will have a wide variety of informational resources for prospective students and their families. Information will include lab tour videos, information about courses, greetings from School leaders, and literature about the School and the departments.
Questions about the event can be directed to Toby Tafoya at the Engineering Student Success Center at tobyago@unm.edu or (505) 277-1417.
