Engineering educator selected as National Academy of Education postdoctoral fellow

Susannah Davis, a research assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of New Mexico, has been selected as a 2021 National Academy of Education (NAEd)/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellow.
The NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship provides funding and professional development to early-career researchers whose projects address critical issues in the history, theory or practice of formal or informal education at the national and international levels.
Davis joined UNM in August 2020. Her background is in education, and her research explores organizational change and equity in educational institutions. Before coming to UNM, she was a research associate at Oregon State University and a researcher at the University of Washington. At UNM, she is working with the FACETS (Formation of Accomplished Chemical Engineers for Transforming Society) program, a National Science Foundation-funded program led by UNM to transform engineering education.
The fellowships are administered by the National Academy of Education, an honorary educational society, and they are funded by a grant to the Academy from the Spencer Foundation. This year, 25 postdoctoral fellows were selected from a pool of 249 applicants.
