Activities and Events

The School of Engineering participates in a wide variety of activities and events to inform and engage prospective students, as well as prepare current students for a successful career after graduation. Here are some of our most well-established events:

  • Open House – Each fall, the School of Engineering hosts open houses for high school students, transfer students, and families. Presentations are given on degree programs, scholarships, student support services, student organizations and what to expect. In addition, students and their parents are able to talk to advisors, department representatives, faculty and students about academic programs, research, and more. Each of the six departments in the school give lab tours.
  • Career Fair – The annual Engineering & Science Career Fair is open to UNM students who are interested in engineering and science-related careers. Recruiters from New Mexico as well as many other areas of the nation will be in attendance. This will be an excellent opportunity for job seekers to connect with multiple employers. More information on the career fair can be found through the UNM Office of Career Services.
  • Science Days – Stay tuned for various science-themed outreach days throughout the year!
