UNM Civil Engineering Department Hosts 49th Annual Paving and Transportation Conference

The UNM Department of Civil Engineering and the ATR Institute will host the 49th Annual Paving and Transportation Conference January 9-10, 2012 at the Marriott Pyramid North Hotel and Convention Center in Albuquerque.The Conference will focus on the future of paving and transportation in New Mexico (‘New Mexico 2035’). In particular, this conference will address the paving and transportation problems and needs of New Mexico cities such as Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Las Cruces, Santa Fe that will arise by 2035, the required activities or actions, and their effects on the mobility, safety, jobs, and sustainable growth in New Mexico.
The annual Paving and Transportation Conference is a continuation of a series of conferences on paving that originally started in 1961, and subsequently progressed as paving and transportation conferences from the 1970s to the present. There are typically 600 participants from throughout New Mexico and the Southwest. The conference attracts transportation contractors, consulting engineering firms, and other related transportation businesses and industries in New Mexico and the region.
