UNM’s undergraduate engineering program ranked in top 100 in new survey
September 9, 2019 - by Kim Delker
The University of New Mexico School of Engineering placed No. 93 in the nation in the 2020 U.S. News & World Report Undergraduate Engineering Programs ranking, released September 9.
More than 200 doctoral-granting programs were ranked. UNM is the only engineering program in New Mexico to rank in the top 100.
“UNM Engineering offers students a high-quality education, and it is gratifying that our peers around the country have taken notice,” said Christos Christodoulou, Jim and Ellen King Dean of Engineering and Computing at UNM. “We put a high value on both quality teaching and in providing undergraduates with robust research opportunities, as well as internships and jobs that prepare our students after they graduate.”
The U.S. News rankings of undergraduate engineering programs are based on the opinions of deans and senior faculty at peer institutions from a survey distributed in spring 2019.
UNM’s engineering program is also highly ranked at the graduate level, placing No. 85 in the U.S. News & World Report 2020 Best Graduate Schools rankings for engineering.
