Engineering and innovation in peace engineering the subject of Wells Fargo Speaker Series

“A New Framework for a Peace Industrial Complex Based on Engineering and Innovation” will be the topic of the Peace Engineering & Innovation Initiative Wells Fargo Speaker Series.
The sessions will be held 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in The University of New Mexico Student Union Building, Lobo A & B rooms.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP.
The event will focus on outlining the progress in research efforts, curriculum development and commercialization efforts for peace engineering.
Opening remarks will be given by Sharon Walker, dean of the Drexel College of Engineering; Christos Christodoulou, Jim and Ellen King Dean of Engineering and Computing at the UNM School of Engineering; and Shawn Berman, UNM Anderson School of Management Interim Dean.
The keynote address will be given by Julian Gresser, CEO of Big Heart Technologies-B Corp.
Panels throughout the afternoon will be on the following peace engineering and innovation topics:
- Innovation and policy, public and private partnerships
- Student engagement and leadership
- Experiential learning and community involvement
- Constructing knowledge
The event is sponsored by the UNM School of Engineering and the UNM Anderson School of Management.
