October 2 ‘Engineering in Action’ speaker series to focus on drone technology

The second installment of the School of Engineering’s new virtual speaker series “Engineering in Action: How our innovation is impacting our community” will be held at 3 p.m. October 2 on Zoom.
At the event, UNM Engineering faculty and students will discuss how drones are used in their research. Among those featured will be Fernando Moreu of the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering.
Also, plans for our on-campus outdoor netted drone facility, LoboDrome, will be discussed.
The final “Engineering in Action” segment of the semester will be December 4 at 3 p.m. It will feature Lydia Tapia, professor of computer science, who will discuss “New Directions of the AI Revolution: Robots, Video Games, and Drugs.”
