Moreu spending semester in Taiwan as a Fulbright Fellow

Fernando Moreu, an associate professor in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at The University of New Mexico, is taking part in the Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Fellow program this semester in Taiwan.
Moreu, whose research at UNM involves augmented reality and smart sensor networks, will be at National Taiwan University for seven months studying Chinese language and culture to advance engineering understanding.
The Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Fellow program is administered by the U.S. Department of Education. It funds fellowships through higher education institutions, enabling faculty to conduct research abroad for periods of three to 12 months for study of modern foreign languages and related studies to improve their language skills and knowledge of the culture of the people of these countries. Faculty receive funding for travel expenses, a stipend and an allowance for research-related expenses.
