UNM SOE Faculty Profiled on KNME This Week

School of Engineering faculty Eva Chi and Yasamin Mostofi will be featured on the KNME New Mexico PBS premiere of "Connect,” a local series that showcases great ideas in science, medicine, arts, and history. The premiere will air this Thursday, Jan. 19th at 7:00 pm on KNME channel 5 and Sunday, Jan. 22nd at 5:00 pm on KNMD channel 9.1. Premiere on YouTube

Eva Chi, assistant professor of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering, shares her groundbreaking research into finding a cure for Alzheimers as she seeks answers for what causes proteins to go bad in the brain. Webpage within the ChNE Department.

Yasamin Mostofi, assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and recipient of President Obama’s Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, looks to the future and answers the question of how we get robots to think for themselves. webpage within the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.

Dr. Scharff recently wrote “The Women Jefferson Loved”, which breaks down the barrier between Thomas Jefferson’s public legacy and his private life, and will offer an intriguing new portrait of this complicated and influential figure, seen through the lives of the most important people in his life: the women he loved.
