February 20, 2020 - by Kim Delker
Researchers from The University of New Mexico School of Engineering were featured in a two-page advertisement in the February 2020 issue of Southwest Airlines’ in-flight magazine.
The advertisement was part of a special advertising section on education.
Grant Heileman, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is featured in the main photo.
Engineering faculty who were featured on the second page are:
- Abhaya Datye, Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering and department chair, listed as an expert in pollution-reducing catalysts
- Marek Osinski, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who is identified for his work with faster fiber optic networks
- Daniel Feezell, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who is identified as working on next-generation power devices
- Steven Brueck, Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, whose contributions include efficiently cooling buildings.
Ethan Rule, director of university marketing for UNM, said that UNM places full-page ads accompanied by a full advertorial a couple of times a year to increase the University’s visibility, especially outside of New Mexico.
