Engineering professor honored with young investigator award

Kristianto Tjiptowidjojo
Kristianto Tjiptowidjojo, a research professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of New Mexico, has been awarded the L.E. Scriven Young Investigator Award, which was awarded at the 20th International Coating Science and Technology Symposium, held virtually Sept. 20-23.
Tjiptowidjojo has been a research assistant professor at UNM since 2013 and also works with the Center for Microengineered Materials. His research expertise is in fluid mechanics, finite element methods coating, printing and nanomanufacturing. Tjiptowidjojo is recognized for his sustained achievement in process model development, engineering software tools, and related teaching and mentoring.
The Scriven award is given in recognition of outstanding sustained achievements or one-time breakthroughs in the area of continuous liquid film coating science and technology. Those nominated for the award must be 40 years old or younger.
